Post-Surgery Instructions
On the day of your surgery, ensure you have been fasting - nothing to eat for 8 hours before your scheduled time of surgery. Just water is fine to drink until you are 4 hours away from surgery. After that time, do not drink anything in order to ensure your stomach is empty before anesthesia. Hold medications on the day of your surgery unless discussed in your preoperative visit that you should take it, you may resume your medications when you return home after your surgery.
Recovery after surgery is often a gradual process that takes time. We are available for assistance as you return to your activities of daily living. We have provided you a set of discharge instructions that addresses some of the most common concerns after surgery.
